Fix Audio-Video and Subtitles Sync issues with VLC media player

You might have faced some scenarios like while watching a movie or a video song, the Audio and Videos are not syncing. This is because of the conversion medium mostly. Audio- video syncing is nothing but you’re watching video’s audio might be a little bit faster or slower. If you can observe the video the lip movement and the voice of the video doesn’t match.

How to fix Audio-Video Sync:

To fix this issue, you don’t have to write a code or do something weird. All you have to do is just download VLC media player. Most of the PC users are using the same player, VLC player. VLC player has many options those I don’t find in other players. If you are an existing user of VLC player then follow these simple instructions to avoid Audio-Video syncing problems.

Open a non audio-video syncing video with VLC media player then observe the audio whether it is faster or slower than the video.

If you’re Audio is faster than the video then you should slow down the audio rate by pressing “J”. Keep on hitting the key “J” from the keyboard until the Audio-Video syncs well.

If your Audio is slower than the video then you should increase the audio rate by pressing “K”. Keep on hitting the key “K” from the keyboard until the Audio-Video syncs well.

Fix Subtitles Sync with VLC Player:

There might be some chances that you don’t get exact subtitles for your movie and did download some subs but those are not syncing. Sometimes subs are playing even before someone talking in the movie or playing later the audio. Users of VLC player can fix this issue also by performing very simple tasks like what we do to fix Audio-Video sync issues.

Open a video file and drag subs to the VLC player or manually load from the options and find whether the subs are playing faster or slower.

If your audio is faster than the subs then hit “G” to slow down the subs playing rate. Pause the playing video the keep on hitting “G” and play whether audio and subs are syncing

If your audio is slower than the subs then hit “H” to fasten the subtitles playing rate. Pause the video and check whether syncing or not. Keep on repeating the same till you feel it is syncing with the audio.
